What We Do
    
The Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Department is responsible for providing leadership in research studies, program evaluation and assessment coordination in the district. The scope of work includes developing and managing the student academic assessment system, meeting specific state and federal reporting and evaluation requirements, providing research support to sites, and special projects. The office provides information to sites to assist in educational planning and works to keep the district current in educational assessment theory, research and practice.

SUSD Benchmarks

Research and Evaluation manages the SUSD Benchmark Assessments. Results from the Benchmark Assessments can be used to target instruction or develop educational programming for students in need of assistance. The benchmark exams occur twice during the school year and are administered to grades 2-8 in English Language Arts and Mathematics.
