Cell Phone Policy

Cell Phones while unique in use, accessibility, and are emergency tools, they create many problems and disruptions on our school campus. While Cell Phones were mentioned in the prior section, the school Administration and Staff felt it necessary to reiterate to Parents and Students that there is a ZERO TOLERANCE for Cell Phones on campus. If Cell Phones are seen or heard while on campus refer back to the process of confiscation mentioned at the end of the prior handbook section for Items not allowed on Campus.

Closed Campus Policy

Cesar Chavez High School is a closed campus by district ruling for all students’ grades 9-12. all students must remain on the school campus for the entire regular academic school day unless they have brought written authorization from their parent/guardian requesting permission from the school authority to leave campus for a specific purpose. A "PERMIT TO LEAVE" must be obtained from school personnel before a student leaves campus.

Identification Cards

ALL CESAR CHAVEZ HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND STAFF WILL HAVE IN THEIR POSSESSION, OR WEAR, THEIR OFFICIAL CCHS IDENTIFICATION CARDS WHILE ON CAMPUS AT ALL TIMES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES. IF ASKED TO PROVIDE YOUR CARD FOR SCRUTINY BY THE SCHOOL AUTHORITY YOU MUST THEN PROVIDE IT IMMEDIATELY UPON REQUEST, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Identification Cards are needed to do many things, but because of the bar coded I.D. number unique for each student, the cards are needed to:

  1. • Checkout Textbooks

  2. • Checkout Library books
  3. • Purchase Free or Reduced Lunch
  4. • Make Purchases in the Student Store
  5. • Participate in ASB Activities on/off campus

Lost or Stolen Identification Cards must be reported to the Administration immediately. One time replacement cards can be provided depending on the situation, however most subsequent I.D. replacement cards will cost the individual $5.00 each. Payment is made through the ASB Student Activities Office/Store and then the replacement card produced and delivered to the individual within two days time.
