ASB CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS Academic Decathlon is a rigorous academic competition geared towards challenging students while simultaneously providing enriching experiences. Every year, we study: Art, Economic, Music, Mathematics, Language and Literature, Science, Social Science, and Super Quiz. All of these subjects are centered on a central theme that changes each year; this year we’ll focus on the American Civil War. Students will also have opportunities to work on interviewing techniques, essay writing, and public speaking skills. Anime Club is to teach people of the Japanese culture through its animation and to have fun.Art Club Avid Club The AVID club’s objective is to help AVID students and/or club members with the needed funds to attend college campuses, to give each an insight of college life, to serve the community, and to provide a place for peer assistance and tutoring. Badminton This organization shall exist to serve the members, advisors, and the Cesar Chavez High School community, which strives: 1. To understand the teaching of badminton. 2. To fundraise money for the team. 3. To develop a fondness for badminton. To learn how to play the game.Band The purpose of Cesar Chavez High School Band Club is to teach and influence students in the CCHS Marching Band, Guard and Auxiliary units through the musical performing arts and the art that is marching. Black Student Union The purpose of the Black Student Union of Cesar Chavez High School is to foster a sense of community among all students. Our mission is to stimulate the intellectual, political, cultural, and social growth of all CCHS students, through enriching activities such as; general meetings, leadership mentoring, and community service. We seek to educate ourselves and the larger community, in hopes that awareness will spark action and ignite change in our communities. Black Student Union is a community that is committed to intellectual, cultural, social, and ethnic diversity. Our main focus is to build awareness, education, and a new level of consciousness about being an African American in this society. We aim to teach others about diversity and show that, through engaging in activities focused around acceptance and tolerance, we will get a better understanding of other while learning about ourselves. We are committed to building a stronger community within a larger community. We plan on doing so by building our history and fostering creativity and leadership, we will continue to be leaders and role models. It is our belief that, “men and women of ordinary ability will become pillars of strength when aroused by desire, and stimulated by action”. Cambodian Club Career Club Class of 2009 (Senior Class) Class of 2010 (Jr. Class) Class of 2011 (Sophomore Class) Class of 2012 (Freshman Class) Cheerleaders Cross Country CSF The purpose of this club is to help promote and be familiar with high standards of scholarship, service citizenship. To help others students understand the importance of school and to expand their knowledge. Dance The purpose of our club is to provide more extensive technical dance training. These club members will be able to perform in each dance show (fall& spring). They do not need to be registered in a dance class at CCHS. The Goal is to create enough interest to be able to create a Performing Dance Co. Class. Dig-it-Volleyball The purpose of our club, first and foremost is to promote the sport of volleyball through respect and healthy competition, and the importance of becoming and conducting ourselves as role models for other students in our school; second, the importance of academic excellence in order to make Cesar Chavez High School known not just for its sports but for its academics ; and last, to promote our school’s values and teach our members how to become leaders in order to carry out the legacy of the great leader, Cesar Chavez. Fashion Design The Fashion Design Club is a club where students could express and show their creativity and fashion sense. Filipino Club The Filipino Kaibigan Club is here to educate and share with all people the culture of the Philippines, Our philosophy is that everyone should have some kind of knowledge of the Filipino culture and the Filipino Kaibigan Club is also here to serve the community. Football French Honor Society The purpose of the French Honor Society is to promote French culture and raise funds to experience French culture firsthand. The French Honor Society’s colors are Blue, White, and Red and it’s motto is “On y va” (Let’s Go) Girls Basketball Golf Club The purposes of our club are to provide its members with the opportunity to: create interest in the CCHS Golf Teams; promote lifelong healthy habits in nutrition and exercise ; go to invitational’s in distant California cities as well as national competitions so the Cesar Chavez athletes can compete against premier level athletes; and raise monetary GSA The main purposes of club shall be as follows: a) promote tolerance and equality among students of all sexual orientations and gender identities through educational efforts and awareness building. b) To inform members and the student body of issues and events affecting the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and straight allies. C) to create a safer environment for all students d) to create a place for LGBT youth can talk about issues in a safe environment. Hip Hop Club The purpose of our hip hop club is to provide members with a learning environment for hip hop culture and the awareness of it. We’ll discuss how hip hop has changed our lived and how it has became apart of everyday life. We promote kids to be in shape and eat more healthy and eat good nutritional meals. We can hold competitions with other schools such as bear creek and McNair. We can go to their school and watch then perform. We’ll be discussing music, art, and the styles of dancing the good behavior. Hip hop has a good motive on teens and it will be a wonderful enjoyment. We want to show that hip hop culture can be a positive impact on teen lives and motivating force for youth to participate in. Hmong Club This Organization shall exist to serve the members, advisors, and the Cesar Chavez High School community, which strives: 1) To strengthen and encourage members in all areas of involvement 2) To establish the interaction of members with other Cesar Chavez High School Hmong students 3)To strengthen and encourage members to take constructive and appropriate student roles. 4) To promote Higher Education. 5) To serve as a resource for addressing the concerns and needs of Hmong students and the Hmong community in regards to higher education Invisible Children The purpose of our club is to aware students of the invisible children in Uganda. We will raise as much money as possible to promote and provide education in Northern Uganda. “Invisible Children’s Schools for Schools program holistically rebuilds schools, raises standards, and challenges young people to actively participate in their changing world.”Journalism Club members write articles for “The Oracle,” keep up to date on current events, and discuss news that affects students and CCHS. Journalism club is an academic, working club dedicated to publishing CCHS’s newspaper, “The Oracle.” Journalism Club is devoted to exploring the field of journalism and upholding the journalistic integrity through investigation, writing, and photography. Key Club Key Club International is an international student-led organization, which provide its members with the opportunity to perform service, build character, and develop leadership Link Crew The purpose of the Link Leaders shall be to mentor and befriend freshmen and new students, providing them guidance, direction, and support Mariachi Club M.E.Ch.A. The purpose of our club is to educate on the cultural, economical, political and social empowerment of Chicanos. Also, to raise Chicanos through higher education and implementing plans of actions concerning the Latino community. MESA The purposes of our club are: to support and encourage each other in science. To strengthen our knowledge, and have fellowship among student who share the same interest in learning throughout Cesar Chavez High School. Mythologists The Mythologists will promote the recording of the history of Cesar Chavez High School through the yearbook, The Myth. The Mythologists shall emphasize the development and growth of the yearbook; concentrating on the financial obligations of the student publication; raising funds for the attendance of its members at yearbook camps, and regional, state and/or national journalism conventions to promote advancements in the areas of student journalism and awareness of journalism career opportunities. The Mythologists shall also uphold the ideals of The First Amendment. Orchestra The purposes of the Orchestra Club are to help spread musical knowledge and to fundraise for trips to competitions in order to gain musical experience. Polynesian Club This organization shall exist to serve the members, advisors, and the Cesar Chavez High School community, which strives: 1)To being to understand the art of Polynesian Culture 2)To spread the culture of Polynesia 3)To develop an understanding of Polynesian language 4)To learn dances of Polynesian Culture 5)To continue the study of Polynesian culture Red Cross Club The goal of Red Cross is to volunteer our time and or fundraise for the many helpful causes that may brighten someone else’s life. We hope we can do more than help out, but make an impact on the community as well. Rocking Titans Our mission is to spread the art, history, present, and future of ALL genres of rock, and to try to get local bands to come to our school for entertainment purposes. While providing a place to relax and talk about, and listen to music in an indoors environment Running Titans (Men's Basketball) The purpose of our club is to provide its members with opportunity to: Create interest in the Cesar Chavez High School Basketball Team; to fundraise money for all three levels of the basketball program and participate in tournaments, trips and etc. Science Club The science club has been created for those interested in science. Singing Titans To promote music and singing at Cesar Chavez High School and in the Stockton community. Softball Speech Club The club shall exist to train and quip students to speak with skill and ease in any given speaking situation, with a wide range of narrative, expository and persuasive materials, and to become more practiced and professional in speech presentations and competitions.
