Maria D. Martinez was

Governing Board of
Education meeting for
all of her hard work and
dedication to the
Stockton School for
Adults Community. Ms.
Martinez began working
at the School for Adults
in 2004 as a Student
Data Technician and
worked diligently
towards a vocational
education teaching
credential. She created
the curriculum for the
Administrative Medical
Assistant program. Maria D.
Martinez is an exemplary
teacher and an asset to
the Stockton Unified
School District!

Assistant
Fred Heron was
recognized at the
September 14, 2010
Governing Board of
Education meeting for
all of his hard work and
dedication as the Campus
Security Assistant at
Rio Calaveras Elementary
School. The genuine care
and concern he exhibits
towards students and
staff is commendable.
Mr. Heron always goes
above and beyond the
call of duty to keep Rio
Calaveras and the
surrounding community
safe. His effort to
ensure students become
lifelong learners proves
that Mr. Fred Heron is
indispensible to the
Stockton Unified School
District!

Cecilia Mendez
Parent Volunteer
Cecilia Mendez was born
in Stockton, California,
to immigrant parents.
Ms. Mendez is a single
parent with three
children who attend
Stockton Unified School
District. She has two
sons Ramon and Juan, age
nine, who attend
Washington and Hoover
elementary schools and
one daughter Jennifer,
age 16, who attends
Edison High School
Ms. Mendez has been an
active parent volunteer
with Stockton Unified
School District for the
past 11 years and
represents parents in a
number of other SUSD
school organizations and
community groups.

Cecilia Mendez was

CACEE bootcamp and was
trained through the
leadership academy given
by CACEE and certified
through the University
of San Diego.
Ms. Mendez works hard to
try to make a positive
difference for ALL
children and encourages
more parents to
volunteer at their
