At each board meeting during
the course of the school year, each high school, on a rotating basis, sends
a student representative to sit on the dais with board members. The board
agenda calls for the student to be introduced by the school principal
followed by an overview of school activities and events presented by the
student.
Rodolfo Buenrostro

Rodolfo Buenrostro is a very happy and outgoing senior, who has passion and
love for his school and community. He has been extremely active is
athletics, participating in football, wrestling, and track and field.
Rodolfo has been active with clubs which include~ Hmong club, IB council,
and a founding member of our campus MAD club, this is a club that is making
a difference through community services, fundraising, and helping with
school events and activities. He also has great passion and drive to work
hard and give back to his community. Rodolfo dedicates time with Friday
Night Live where he serves as the current president. This organization
promotes a healthy drug free lifestyle through community service. He has
been a part of UOP's leadership program which is another organization
developed and dedicated to changing Stockton through community service and
leadership. Finally, he also serves on the advisory board at the Stockton's
Teen Center. Rodolfo has done community service and volunteer work at~
Fillmore Elementary school's STEP-UP after school program, St. Mary's Dining
Hall, St. Mary's interfaith undergarment drive, Student in prevention blood
drive, National Alliance of mental illness walk, and the T.I.E. project~
this is a project that raises awareness of the negative effects of tobacco.
These are only a few areas that this fine young man provides his time as a
way to give back to his community, and we thank him and acknowledge his
efforts. Mr. Buenrostro is an outstanding individual and son who aspires to
attend UOP in the fall and follow his passion for music and business.

Nicholas
Orozco
Pacific Law Academy
Nico is a Junior at Pacific Law Academy. His current GPA is 4.21. Upon
graduating from Pacific Law Academy, Nico plans to go to UOP to study
business and mathematics.
Nico is very active in his community. During his sophomore year he provided
over 100 volunteer hours, tutoring students at Wilson school. As a junior he
is providing community service to Walton Developmental Center, helping the
children there. In the past Nico has also been an alter server at St. Linus
Church.
Due to Nico’s academic and leadership abilities he was nominated and
participated in the People to People Ambassadors Program at UCLA where he
was able to meet and interact with students from all over the world.

Anakaren Camargo Negrete
Weber Institute

Anakaren Camargo Negrete is
currently a senior at Weber Institute and has been there since she was a
freshman. Anakaren currently holds a 4.0 GPA and is in our Health Academy
where she is currently working on her internship at La Loma Medical Office.
In addition, she is very active in Leadership and SKILLS USA. When Anakaren
graduates she will be pursuing a career in the Medical field in either
sonography or as a dental hygienist. Anakaren is certified in CPR, First
Aid and AED (automated external defibrillator). She is currently enrolled
in a class that is articulated with Delta College to give her a head start
in her career. In the fall she will be attending Delta but will ultimately
complete her studies at a four year college.

Abellana
Stagg High School

Ms. Natsumi Abellana is a senior at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School where she
is highly respected by her teachers, staff, and peers. Ms. Abellana holds a
4.10 GPA, is currently third in her class, and she is a member or officer in
six different organizations and clubs on campus: AVID, MESA, Key Club,
National Honor Society, Red Cross, and the Interact Club with Rotary. She
holds academics, family, and social service close to her heart and has
served in a variety of capacities at school and in the community. According
to several of her teachers, “Natsumi will be someone we will read about in
the future”. Ms. Abellana is in the process of applying for early action to
attend the University of California at Berkeley where she will pursue a
degree in either engineering or medicine.
