The CAAN Network has produced a professional development video/handbook set demonstrating the use of scoring guides to establish performance levels for student work in the arts. CAAN is also developing a project to explore the relationship between assessing the arts content standards and student work samples. A bill (SB 1548) sponsored by Senator Alarcon and the California PTA designates CAAN in assisting the CDE to develop a pool of diagnostic assessment items for the arts content standards.
